The bag has 1 outside pocket with zip, 1 eyelet on one side. carrying handles. in a large open space. Internal measurement 16.5 inches long. Can hold up to a 1lb skein and has room for a project, needles etc. It had a slight smell when first opened but I just put it aside with the zippers open to let it air out and no longer smell. Fabric with nylon lining. seems strong
