First of all, the design of this product is amazing. My wife and I wanted a second monitor because our main monitor (Vtech) mounts directly to the wall so it can be a hassle to remove when traveling. We chose this model because of its excellent design... You can place it anywhere. It's got a great base so you can easily set it on a table, a strong clip so you can stick to things, and a gooseneck design so you can tilt it to basically any angle. This is genius. It's also very durable; for example I attached it to my son's lamp and it sat there for three weeks not moving an inch. Now for the bad news: the quality isn't very good. Compared to Vtech, I was very disappointed with the picture and sound quality of the device. The video is very grainy and clips/freezes a bit, and the audio isn't really all that immersive. With Vtech, I can hear my son's lullabies all night while all I've heard on the few nights I've tested this device is silence. I thought maybe it would filter out white noise, but then I heard my son crying upstairs and there was nothing on the monitor. Very disappointing. The quality improves when connected to Wi-Fi, but since I plan to use it on a lot of trips I don't want to rely on it. Also, the way you connect to Wi-Fi is a bit odd. You have to use the app and it's a bit suspicious. The user interface on the monitor itself is also very confusing. Setting it up wasn't very easy; There was a lot of pairing and unpairing before it finally worked. Overall it's a great design, but the actual monitoring aspect leaves a lot to be desired.
