I previously bought a larger USB-C hub (the one with the cable) and it works great. I travel a lot and wanted a slightly slimmer/smoother solution. The MacStick V is about 70% the length, half as thin, and half as thin as my old USB-C hub. It "snaps" into both sides of my 2018 MacBook Pro (6-core) so you can make sure it's securely in place. Though the hub uses two USB-C ports, you get those back on the device itself. That works great. The assembly is very solid. From previous experience, I can also say that CharJen Pro's customer service is really good. Also, every time I email them, I get a reply from them the same day. If you absolutely must have SD/Micro SD slots, this one doesn't have one. For me it was no coincidence. I could use these slots once a year and I can just use a cheap SD/Micro SD for the USB stick I have.
