Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exciting and innovative!

Update 10/21/2015 As part of their new FUSEables collection, We R have finally released a set of interchangeable nozzles that includes a nozzle and welding tool and TWO new wheel designs! This was definitely my biggest issue with the tool, so I'm changing my rating from 4 stars to 5. Rating 1: Creativity. Start your engines! I only buy tools that can either: A. be used in different ways AND the way I would actually use them. It is so unique that there is nowhere else that can do the same job. This tool falls into category B. My first impression was: I WANT IT! but it is a kind of miraculous blow and goes against my nature. So I followed my usual process of scouring the internet for a way I could use my wood burning tool to accomplish the same task. I came away empty-handed, but I was so inspired in my research after seeing all the uses of the backup tool that I couldn't wait to delve into it and decided I MUST have it. Although the tool looks like a glorified wood burner, there are 3 very important things that make it different: 1. Fixing tip (wheel)2. Ruler. The rubber feet on the bottom of the ruler are an absolute must for using this item on those slippery page protectors. Combine this with the center slit and it sets this line apart from any others I own or can find online.3. Most important: W. The wood burner has an output of about 30 watts because it is designed to burn wood. The fuse tool is only 7 so you can imagine the difference it makes and what happens to a thin piece of plastic when you heat it four times hotter than it needs to be. Now it will be a 5 star tool EXCEPT for one small thing - and that is the MAJOR SMALL one. Tip for melting! I really wish there was a way to save tips that you haven't used with the tool. Right now the ONLY place to find Fusion Tip is in the full toolbox. If you lose such a small item you will end up with a very low temperature tool or wasting money on the entire set just to replace a small part you CANNOT live without. It would be very handy to have a storage compartment inside the instrument itself, but I'd settle for something as simple as a compartment on a tool stand. Even two small slots at the top or bottom of the base for you to clip the tips into would be handy. I hold the cutting tip in the top of the base with a piece of tape (see photo), but most importantly, the fixing tip unfortunately doesn't fit. I'm glad I bought it - I definitely feel like it's worth the money and I enjoy using it!
