easy. You don't have to leave it out all the time, just pop it in when you know what you're cooking is about to be completed. I find it more accurate and easier to use. Also, I even have a digital one, but I love having it in my kitchen because 1) digital can't be in the oven and 2) I can use it as a quick reference for whatever I'm cooking in the cases. where I use digital and then I don't have to pull out my phone to check what temperature I should be aiming for (I should know by now, but I still have to check half the time I'm cooking, ok that saves me from problems).
