Bought because the shallow pan we have isn't balanced so the eggs keep going into a little hole on the side and I have to keep scooping the eggs out. To the top. I think they really do hold the egg in place - and they do! I added a dollop of butter to each, beat each egg individually, and then poured it into the mold. I cooked them for at least 5 minutes before removing the mold and then flipped them over. The only thing I would like is for them to snap into place when the handle is held upright. It would be easier to move them around to see if the egg is hard enough to remove the mold. Overall a great price and a good tool!
