Love it! Beauty & Personal Care

This item works great and overall I'm VERY happy with it! However, there are a few things I think could be improved or would like to point out, so here they are: The brush gets SUPER hot which in turn makes your hair feel VERY hot when you're not wearing it She. Glove included! You also need to be a bit careful with the angle at which you hold the brush as it gets very hot around the edges and can burn your skin if you hold it incorrectly. (I seem to have the most trouble slicking my hair at the nape of the neck.) It just takes a little practice to figure out how to hold it without burning it. I have found that the easiest way to use this straightening comb is to FIRST brush your hair THOROUGHLY with a regular hairbrush before you start straightening. The reason is that the straightener tends to get stuck in your hair a bit if you have tangles/tangles and won't just slide through. I've also found that the more product in your hair, the harder it is to get the flat iron to run smoothly through your hair. By that I mean things like dry shampoo, texturizing spray, hairspray, etc., because these products make the hair a bit drier, rougher and "rougher" which makes the straightener want to "hang". a little more in the hair. I don't wash my hair every day, so while I can use the straightening brush every day if I want to, it sometimes just "twitches" a little when I have product buildup in my hair for a few days. Which brings me to a small "complaint". I would like them to make the outermost bristles around the perimeter of the straightener out of a slightly more flexible or different material. They are made of very thin, hard and somewhat brittle plastic and it doesn't take much effort to break/break them if your hair gets a bit tangled in the bristles while straightening! All of the other "bristles" on the straightener are very thick and of a different material and I don't see a chance of them coming loose if the hair just gets tangled in a ball. A suggested "technique" for straightening is to grab a strand of hair, use one gloved hand to move (tug) it away from your head and, with the flat iron in your other hand, begin lifting the LOWER SIDE of the hair with the bristles of the smoothing head. The brush should face UP, as close to the roots as possible. While it's still taut, use a gloved hand to press a section of hair against the bristles and run the flat iron through your hair to the ends. This allows each strand of hair to have more contact with the hottest center part of the brush and smooths them out better in my opinion. Repeat with each section all over the head. I don't really like using this straightener very effectively like a regular comb (combing the top of the hair) as the hair doesn't come in direct contact with the 'plate' of the brush unless you're squeezing the hair between the bristles. I also think the longer the hair, the easier it is to use. I have layered hair just below my shoulders and it's pretty simple. However, I think it can be difficult with very short hair. Another complaint has to do with the location of the button that changes the temperature. It's on the handle of the straightener, right where you hold it when straightening your hair! So you keep accidentally pressing it when you use it, causing the temperature to change! The device doesn't have an on/off switch (you just have to unplug it to turn it off, another annoying pet) so you don't actually turn it off when your hand presses the button, but it's just super annoying that you change it the temperature randomly every time you click it! So yes it does have some downsides but overall I still love it because it straightens my hair a little faster than my flat iron and it's great for quicker touch ups when I'm in a hurry! The price was great compared to many other straighteners I looked at and the shipping was super fast! Thank you Rewin!
