I'm no material expert but this material is very soft and a bit slippery. I'm used to heavy cotton duvet covers, so it took me a while to get used to how easy it was to slip out of my usual duvet cocoon and the sliding "sound" of my skin, nails, hair etc .does when I turn around. in bed. Now that I've had a week to adjust, I appreciate this stuff. It feels much cooler than cotton, so turning it over to the other side of the pillow gives you a wonderful feeling of freshness on a hot night. The pattern is BEAUTIFUL. I love the deep dark blue color and the bright white stars. I've only machine washed it once on linens and it's been great.
