I needed a small desk to use with my 17" laptop in my bedroom. This desk takes as much space as an Ikea night dresser. It is pretty sturdy, no wiggle. It takes effort to shake it. I am using it on shaggy carpet though. I also purchased an under desk tray to organize cables and laptop charger and power strip. The top plate does feel cheap, but it fits well and it did not scratch since I bought it two months ago and used it daily. The metal frame and big bolts that hold it together do inspire confidence that this desk will last a while.
