I take photos with a Sony a7iii. While this camera has a very bright monitor, the monitor in the camera is low resolution and very, very small. I've compared this monitor to small HD monitors and the Shinobi's features seem to outperform it. I'm giving 4 stars because sometimes I can't communicate properly with my camera - it may be an issue with my settings, but overall this monitor was GREAT! The packaging was rough and I was concerned about the condition of the shinobi. It was sent by Adorama, but it's not Atomos' fault! This monitor has lived up to the hype so far. I've had a tough time working on my Ronin S, but I don't have the right mounting hardware yet, so that can wait. The screen is (not much) brighter than my a7iii screen but looks a lot better thanks to the display used by Atomos and its larger size. I immediately loaded my LUTs onto the screen to adjust Slog2, HLG and Cine2 and shooting on this monitor was much easier. Focus peaking is far more detailed than any other camera I've used; and vector regions are exactly what I'm used to in Premier Pro. Now I don't have to guess my exposure values from the Sony values displayed on screen! I opened the package and slammed the monitor against one of my Sony cages and it worked like magic. Don't forget to get some NPF batteries, a MicroHDMI to HDMI cable and a cold shoe or 1/4 thread mounting bracket/clip and you're done!
