Review on 🎵 Altec Lansing iM9 inMotion Mobile Speaker Dock for iPod (Black): Dynamic Sound On-the-Go! by Kay Daniels

I used to connect my iPod to the stereo speakers in our living room with a $9 splitter cable. But earlier this year my husband upgraded his Tivo and moved the old one to the family room and I ran out of iPod jacks. (BU! OT, now it's nice to have two Tivos too!) I already had the iM600 speaker dock, which is handy for small spaces and very portable due to its light weight and rechargeable battery. But for our family room (where we do most of our entertaining), the acoustics aren't great and the ceiling is about 20 feet high. So the iM600 sounded like a "radio" in this room. So I've been looking for something to use while cooking, entertaining, or doing housework since I can no longer connect my iPod to my speakers. This acoustic docking station sounds great - it really "fills the room" (MUCH more so than the iM600). I'm not a music lover, but I like good sound. I'm having a hard time telling the difference between this speaker dock and using our speakers. As others have said, it would be nice to have a remote control for this. OTOH, the iM600 has a remote control and it seems like every time I want to use it I have to take a few minutes to think and figure out where the remote is unless I velcro it on my body. IMO, remotes are only good when you're "planted". When you're on your feet, doing chores, cooking, having fun, I still tend to lose the remote, so in one respect the NBD doesn't have a remote.
