The back of the shoe hurts

They are very cute but there is a 'hard' straight stabilizing insert in the middle of the back of each shoe which is very uncomfortable and very uncomfortable caused blisters. I used a pocket knife, cut out about 1 inch of this part and glued the back of the shoe together. It's much more comfortable, but the hot glue doesn't hold and the shoes don't look as cute anymore.
