Review on 19 Slot Bamboo Knife Storage Block by Cook N Home by Robert Pierce

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I had a great knife block that came with a medium knife set.

Before that I had a great knife block that came with a set of medium sized kitchen knives (maybe Faberware?) that we got as a wedding present and then I kept the good "knives" (a mix of Henckels and Wüsthof) in a drawer, covered with self-made cardboard protective pads. Ghetto, but effective. I also kept 4 steak knives (Chicago Metropolitans cutlery) in the "good knives" drawer. That's how it went for many years, until one day I decided that I wanted 4 more steak knives in case we had guests over for dinner. With 8 steak knives in a good knife box, finding a paring knife suddenly became a real problem.I needed a block that would fit my 8 steak knives and This one turned out to fit. It was packaged well and the quality is definitely good enough for my low expectations. My S teak knives fit perfectly in the grooves. My Honmühle ok is placed in the upper left corner. My splitter is placed at the top right. The only thing silly about the knife slots is that my kitchen shears fit in the bottom center hole, but then the handles block the bottom left and right slots. Stupid. Move the scissor slot to the side. Small but annoying. Still plenty of room for my 2 chef's knives, a boning knife, bread knife and a paring knife. Looks attractive on the counter. I call it victory.
