Beautiful chair with a fatal flaw

There's a lot to love about this chair. The ergonomics are great. Triple paddles give you a level of customization not available on chairs two or three times the price. Looks great, very comfortable. In fact, one of the most comfortable chairs I've had in several decades of work. So what's the problem? The wheelbase is made of plastic. Even the slide-in area where you insert the wheels is made of plastic. As a result, you sit in a chair and suddenly the tongue attaching the wheel to the base breaks and hits! Instant garbage. Of course, you can order a new metal base and wheels for around $85, but that gets boring quickly. I've had two of these chairs - both broke about six months after original purchase. The pneumatic column fails after a year or so - but I don't blame the chair - it's a fairly typical event in our lives. office, and since the columns are generic and standard, it's a simple $15 solution. Just keep a few spare tubes in the closet. Finally, as others have pointed out, this is a noisy chair. Any slightest movement creates a creaking noise from the seat. It doesn't really bother me, but I can see it can be a problem in some offices. This chair needs to be redesigned to have a stronger base, wheel attachment system and possibly eliminate creaking noises. from the base of the seat and it becomes a 5 star chair. Until then, only recommended for 100-kilo lightweights.
