Review on X9 Performance X9RFERGOKEY by Marco Mooney

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Softkeys and an incredible amount of space.

I chose this keyboard because it is very similar in layout and size to my favorite Microsoft Natural 4000 wired keyboard. It is very similar in size and layout except for the space bar. I don't mind the Microsoft Scuplt Wireless Keyboard's shared space, but the X9 isn't just shared space. The spacebar has dead space in the middle and the spacebar keys are angled outwards. The number of times I've encountered dead plastic is enough to drive even the casual machinist insane. While the rest of the keyboard feels comfortable and is a very natural transition from the Natural 4000 in terms of layout, the keys are really soft. I'm not saying that in the sense of "every keyboard should be like the IBM M-series or have Cherry Blue switches". Compared to Natural 4000 this is terrible. I would even say it's on par with the keyboards you get on low-end Dell or HP models but in an ergonomic design. - conveniently located and well thought out for an ergonomic keyboard. Likewise, I found the wireless connection to be easy to set up and didn't notice any noticeable lag or ghost keys. All in all, though, I was really hoping to get a wireless version of the Natural 4000, but that didn't work out either. many areas. While I'm not a huge fan of Microsoft Sculpt, I haven't found another ergonomic keyboard in this price range that's as good. Ultimately (at least for now) I would recommend this to anyone looking for an ergonomic keyboard in this price range.
