Sturdy metal frame. Each part can be disassembled so you can configure it differently as you wish. Comfortable foam grips, metal top and bottom rails. I love the included GoPro mount that allows me to use a backup video source if needed. The ONLY plastic part is the phone clip, but it has a screw clip to hold the phone in place and it makes up for it. It fits my iPhone 6 Plus with the Otter Box installed. It lost the Versatility star for being about an inch too narrow. To connect a pistol mic or charging cable, the phone must be mounted slightly off-center and the end of the camera must be directly opposite the grip. Works great on a tripod and is very stable in that position. I didn't photograph the two cold shoe mounts, but they are included - they can be easily attached to the screw. All screws have a sturdy thumb wheel attached - should hold up for a while until you drop it etc. The top rail has a threaded hole in the middle so you can get creative and mount another item there, use it to kick, or even a different one block, I would definitely recommend this mount.
