I took a chance it would improve my display and I like how it turned out. I did not remove the cover, but carefully glued it on. I thought! I pulled myself up and changed position. I have a small stain but I'm perfectly fine as I did it quickly. I don't know about adhesion but it seems fine and doesn't move. The instructions could be a bit clearer, but I've made cellphones and it's very similar. By the way, my car is a 2012 mkT with what appears to be 8 inch navigation. I don't feel any difference on the touchscreen. There's a shine, but I like it better. the wife thinks it looks great and harder to please lol. Much luck.
