each (anyone making tweezers?). I bought these pens when I first started doing papercrafts about 8-9 months ago. I didn't know at the time that I needed some sort of anti-static powder tool, so all my attempts to use it were futile. I sorted out some of my storage drawers a few days ago and thought about throwing those pens away, but they were still brand new and not dry at all. I had a few boards laying around with boring experiments, so I decided to give these pens another try and see if I could bring some of these boards to life. I liked the result this time. I'm attaching a photo of the first piece I tried the pin on. This is a watercolor and dry stamped henna pattern that was matte matte matte. After using the clear version of this pen to highlight part of the raised design and adding some embossing powder, the piece came out interesting enough to put on a postcard - at least I thought so! :) I've found that the ink in these pens dries a bit faster than it appears on the ink pad - probably because the ink you apply with the pen is a much thinner and thinner layer. You will need to stop and heat and re-powder the embossing piece by piece before doing another piece if you are making more than a few words of text. The image I included was made in 8-10 sections. I think the results can definitely be worth the effort. Since then I've traveled around town with these pens and cut out all sorts of details (btw if you use this pen on the highlights of your Altenew flowers instead of using an ink pad to emboss it will produce a sharper, clearer image) and the Pencils still don't dry out so they seem to last quite a while. I've tried this technique in the past with a glue stick (e.g. Quickie Glue Roller Pen, Zig Squeeze & Roll, etc.) and they all work pretty well when I just want to make a small dot or scribble or whatever . However, they were all a bit inconsistent and would be skipped or wiped out when I was trying to draw a consistent line or have a consistent thickness. Since this embossing pen is a marker, I get a smoother and more even surface. It is also much easier to correct mistakes or tweezer marks on a large embossed image with this pen than with an embossing pad.
