Review on 🔧 Enhanced Mounting Hardware with Added Bracket Thickness by Darin Marshall

I didn't expect these materials to be indestructible or withstand heavy use. However, I would expect that a product sold as a "clamp" could at least be screwed into regular wood without breaking. My project was a wobbly stair railing that was otherwise in good condition except for a small crack in the wood. A few staples and it would be almost new (and strong enough). I pre-drilled the holes with an electric drill and then screwed them in by hand with a screwdriver. Out of 5, 3 broke off (the head of the screw broke off the body). As you can see from one of the photos I uploaded, this meant more than just having to use more screws than planned. This actually messed up the project because the threaded portion of the screws got stuck where the holes in the bracket were. Now I can't even put in a new screw. As a result, this $16 attempt to reinforce a mostly regular railing is now costing me hundreds of dollars plus time and/or hiring someone to install new railings. Not to mention that unless I replace all the railings, it now won't compete with any other 20-year-old tree in the area. I've had my fair share of shoddy purchases but this is my first deal with Revain which actually hurt me and made me worse than before. If "clamp" screws cannot be manually screwed into the drilled holes without breaking, then they are defeating their purpose. This is not an item purchased to be placed in drywall or other lightweight materials. The description at the time of purchase read "fits almost any furniture such as tables and chairs, dining tables, desks, windows, bookshelves, appliances etc." This is clearly not the case unless it is strong enough to clip into a tree screw. The only good thing I can say about it is that at least the screws broke during installation, not after. It would be terrible to reinforce something and then it broke and caused injury!
