I received my first Borner slicer in the early 1990's (pictured) and it has just worn out. I was glad they are still in production. I originally bought this when I was younger and canned it a lot, but have continued to use it over the years. Now that I have arthritis in my hands I use it for chopping and slicing. It's very easy to clean but the new one doesn't stand up on its own and I don't have a lot of storage space so it doesn't fit where I had my old one. I would definitely recommend this slicer.
