The bottle opener doesn't look as pretty as the rest of the set and some tongs would be nice, but this starter set has everything you need for a home bar. The stainless steel set with bamboo holder is a modest but still good selection of different finishes to match my wooden knife blocks and cabinets. The Hawthorne strainer is simple, no need to push a button to activate the gate for different infusions, but it still fits nicely in a classic shaker with conveniently adjustable serpentines. It is slotted, not with holes for the filter. Mudler is a nice touch with an elastic band on one end for tying mint leaves or fruit in knots, which I've never had before. I've made a mojito before, but don't stir the mint too vigorously, if at all, as it's said to make the drink bitter. The mixing spoon is the perfect length for me, not too short and not too long. The bar placement might seem a bit odd for someone with OCD, but overall I like having it in my home bar. I was in dire need of a metal shaker as I've only partied with a cheap plastic shaker which was cumbersome. Now I'm ready for my next party because this stainless steel shaker looks professional! The last thing I want is a rubber mat and a margarita machine so I can call myself a professional home bartender!
