Did the job. The grid was quickly switched to 10W30, you still have to be patient with the thickness.

To be honest if I had something thicker I would just make a few holes in the mesh bigger - it's plastic mesh, I think shielding the oil is a good idea but I usually water directly from the original container. Pretty big and long, just what I needed to pour oil in my grave.
