Review on KZ ZS10 Pro Earbuds Headphone by Dawn Ridley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exceptional quality at a very reasonable price

I'm a fan of KZ. I've had several different models over the past year or two. The youngest of these was the ZS7. In fact, I would say that both models are exceptionally good, but still different. Both are surprisingly affordable for their sound, both are stylish and both have impressive detail. Let's talk about the ZS10 Pros first. These headphones have excellent, tight, detailed bass. (Make sure you get it right) I like the bass as much as the other guy, but I'm not a fan of huge, thumping, booming basses. I want it to be clean and pop. ZS10 do it brilliantly. In comparison, the ZS7 now has MORE bass! It's not that dense, but MASSIVE. So if you're into EDM and/or Hip Hop, you'll probably love the ZS7. better. But if you love metal, classic rock and pop, the ZS10 Pros might be your best bet. Weave hair here! I like listening to any set of monitors. Next, the ZS10 has a slight peak (or natural gain) around 6kHz. The hissing of a voice or the high-frequency crackling of a snare lives here. This is also why I think the ZS10s are perfect for rap or hip-hop. The ZS7 are much smoother in this regard and sound less loud, so they work better with older recordings. Okay, I confess I really like the purple color of my ZS10! I also find the ZS10 much more comfortable than the 7s. My outer ear just doesn't like the feel of the 7s and I get tired after an hour or so. Does not apply to ZS10 professionals. They are much thinner and much more comfortable. If you want to get the most out of your KZ monitors, invest in higher quality cables. You will not regret it.
