I wear dungarees when I do housework. Since there is no belt, I carry a 12ft band in my pocket. I had some difficulties with the last two cassettes, although they were both released by very reputable companies. Each one was replaced because the markers wore off the first few inches, making them difficult to use for small measurements. The second was also too flexible and could not be pulled out more than a few feet without collapsing; doesn't help at all when working alone. The finish on this band looks better than any and I believe it will last much longer without fading. It can be stretched over 5 feet before collapsing. The plastic body has rounded corners, making it more comfortable to hold. One of those metal-coated straps had a rubber stain, but it fell to pieces. As with others, I removed the belt clip as I don't need it and makes it difficult to use. Overall, this is the best pocket cassette I've ever owned.
