I intentionally bought this model 2 sizes larger than children's raincoats. Since it only rains here, maybe one month a year, I need my money to be worth it. So if I buy a large size, I can also wear more under the coat and wear a few years. The construction of this one is solid and I can see it holding up for years through my two rough boys. The mesh lining is a little scratchy but that's not a problem as as I said I wear clothes underneath my clothes so my son won't feel the mesh anyway. It is very waterproof and my son has a ball with all the pockets.
