I am very picky about sheets and willing to invest in comfort. After all, we all spend about a third of our lives in our beds. Before trying Tencel, I bought high thread count Pima cotton bedding from suppliers like Malouf. This experiment was a success. First, I did a little research on the different types of products labeled as such. They are not all made equal. I specifically wanted Tencel Lyocell sheets made from organic eucalyptus. Some others are made from a mixture of materials and in such a way that they can emit significant amounts of pollutants into the environment. So far these sheets have been surprisingly comfortable, cool, and washable, although I use a gentle cycle, cold water, and Woolite just to be on the safe side.
