There are all kinds of programming robot toys for kids on the market these days and after my kids got a few I think it's a very good one. The simple result of drawing on paper gives children instant gratification, and the creative possibilities are relatively extensive but simple enough not to get frustrated and give up quickly. I also really like the connection method. Instead of a dedicated app, which can be buggy, it can connect to just about any phone, tablet, or computer via its own dedicated Wi-Fi, where you simply connect to it rather than the internet to communicate with the robot. The app is integrated into the robot for lack of a better term. Once I showed them my kids could do it on their own and you don't have to worry, especially younger kids, about being on the internet unsupervised. The various programming options - beginner, intermediate, and advanced - are useful, and the advanced mode offers real programming languages like Javascript, Python, and C+, making it legitimately educational while still retaining an element of fun art. explores a real programming language, making it much more useful and even classroom friendly. There are also pre-programmed options to show what Artie can do right away to get kids interested. All in all, this is one of the best programming toys I've seen.
