This was my first DATASHUR product. One CRITICAL thing NOT MENTIONED in the product description is that there is a 10 second TIMEOUT to completely re-enter a new password. allow alphanumeric passwords up to 15 digits long, and since +2 final keystrokes are also required to complete the selection of a new password, this means you have to press SEVENTEEN keys in less than 10 seconds (that's 0.58 seconds per keypress). . tried entering the full 15 byte password and it was completely IMPOSSIBLE to do so in time, even after a dozen attempts. I then tried 10 letters (+2) and could only make it secure if I WRITE the password (as NUMBERS) first and enter it that way. Still, about 2/3 of the time I couldn't think of a 10-digit password. I ended up having to choose a minimum password length of SEVEN to make it strong. FINAL VERDICT: I am very unhappy with the stupid 10 second limit. I think this clearly requires a human factor check. A sane person can't do 17 keystrokes in 10 seconds, and virtually ANY person can't even type in a short password if they have to lift their fingers to figure out which number keys have 3-4 specific letters on each key. Forcing users to either choose SHORT passwords or WRITE OUT their passwords (numerically) before attempting to unlock them seems 100% to go against the main selling point of these encrypted devices. Apart from the stupid waiting time and the de facto short password solution, I am satisfied with my purchase. BUT, buyers need to be aware of this issue, otherwise the manufacturer needs to FIX this issue in future releases.
