I bought this for my HP Elitebook 840 G3. The docking station is a good product (reliable, versatile), but I've found two main issues to share with the laptop itself. 1) The docking station covers the USB port on the right side, so only the port on the left side is accessible. The dock itself has a few USB ports, but I like that I can connect my wireless mouse to my laptop instead of the dock (otherwise I can only use it in the dock). Again, this is due to the design of the laptop itself and not necessarily the docking station. 2) Absolutely TERRIBLE sound when plugging headphones into the 3.5mm jack. This is a serious problem. I read online and this seems to be a common problem. People suggest updating drivers or disabling "enhanced audio" but nothing worked for me. The sound is just unbearable (distorted). I ended up plugging my headphones into the laptop's audio out, which (thankfully) isn't covered in the dock.
