Working but noisy

Much more attractive than the 60 year old plastic bin it replaced. lid when closing. I'm working on muting this noise as it's annoying to wake up from a sweet and restful sleep because someone else is trying to toss a candy wrapper quietly. If the manufacturer could improve this product, they would make it so that the lid bangs less loudly. As for durability, time will tell. It can depend on how frustrating it is, open and close, open and close, open and then close! Hell Naceum. Another unforeseen issue (by some) is that while it's small, it still needs an extra two or three inches of clearance behind it to allow it to roll for its flip. Thus, it turned out to be more characteristic than originally thought. On a more nostalgic and slightly positive side, the squeak of that lid is less distressing than flushing our former American Standard toilet, which happily moved 15 years ago. Maybe things eventually got better in this general area every ten years or so... yes, you often have to philosophize about such things as you get older... If anyone asks, I'll try to take a philosophical nap.
