I bought this device to test the salinity of my pond water. The guides are designed to work with several different tools and are therefore confusing. The task is to calibrate with the supplied liquid. No explanation of what the results should be or what to do if the results differ from the salinity of the liquid being tested. There is no guidance as to whether the entire process needs to be repeated for each water test. What if I get a questionable result on a test - do I need to recalibrate? All it does is p(*& me off. If you use it for a freshwater pond, the display will only show ppt less than 1 in a digit (e.g. 0.3 ppt). A reading of 0, So 3 could be below 0.251 or above 0.349 Avoid this.
