Sticky when used correctly
I understand why some reviewers found the adhesion difficult to work with. I first laid it horizontally on the armrest of the chair to give it a good grip, then ran the rest of the tape over the vertical armrest and found it stuck pretty well. I bought this for my brother's cat as she likes to use the armrest as a scratching post. I think that will be a good deterrent.
