Review on Precision Slicing Made Easy: Stainless Steel Cheese Slicer with Accurate Size Scale & 5 Replaceable Wires by Bobby Diaz

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Too light, wire too thick

This slicer corresponds to the description but is missing here. I tested it with a small block of regular medium cheddar cheese. 1) it's too light. You have to hold it with one hand while you cut the cheese, 2) the wire is too thick. He cuts through the cheese like a chainsaw, leaving tiny pips on the counter below him. The resulting cuts are uneven and ugly. 3) The cutting wire hangs on the edge of the hole it needs to go through. You have to position it very carefully to get the cut without hitting the metal. 4) The cutting wire will not start cutting until past the 1” mark on the surface scale, reducing the cutting area. This is because the wire is not attached to the edge of the surface but some distance from the edge below. My old marble cutting machine cuts neatly edge to edge like a whistle. I cannot recommend these.
