Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Wii U by Cody Hunt

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The game of my life good for gaming

My wife suggested I take a day off and have a "shock day" with the kids (there are four of us) which, like any sane person, I did. This review is dedicated to her. Ingredients: Most characters are unlocked from the start, which is a relief if you have kids who want to play as X but don't want to wait. Overall the list is way better than Brawl, with fewer clones and some of my favorites from new Nintendo games like Shulk, Lucina, Palutena, and Robin. Wii Fit Trainer and Villager are fun and awesome. There are so many characters, I played all day and only got about half of them. Depth: There is so much to do and unlock that it is enough to bring a grown father to tears with responsibility. Amiibos: This feature isn't for everyone, but if you're a longtime Nintendo fan or have kids, they're awesome. They're a little confusing and I had a hard time explaining the difference between Disney Infinity and amiibo to my six year old, but using them cleared things up. These are great figures (with a few exceptions - the link is disappointing) and great for kids to play with. We bought four (Mario, Peach, Link, Samus) and I had a puppeteer team with each of my kids so they could compete against me. Now the numbers are so high that it's hard for me to win. Besides, they are toys. They love to play with them if they are careful. 8 player Smash: I have a family of six. This mod is a godsend. This works surprisingly well and we always fill the remaining slots with amiibo figures. The gameplay remains fluid and the chaos is just amazing. The only shame is that in this mode your options for stages are limited. "Everything Else": The graphics are nice and smooth, and it's amazing how Nintendo can bring all of these characters together in a game that somehow makes visual sense. The music is endless, amazing and will evoke nostalgia. You can connect the GamePad to a good sound system and just shuffle the playlist. Nirvana.Scene Builder is simple and intuitive. My kids loved drawing their own stages. I was struck by its elegant simplicity, but I hope they add more to this mode. Pallets and platforms seem limited. The new stages are great, with a few exceptions. There are many single player modes including a revamped classic mode which I preferred over the old one. You can use any Wii U or Wii controller you have. All of them. Well, except for the balance board. We used the GamePad, Wii U Pro Controller, Wii Remote + Wii Classic Controller Pro, and Wii Remote for the little one. They even sell GameCube controllers which I love but don't think are worth buying unless you're married to Meli. I don't, and I prefer not to have cables. I would buy a GameCube adapter if I still had Wavebird. Conclusion: This is a game for everyone. Even my wife, who doesn't play much, and the two-year-old loved it (I teamed up with him, along with the Link amiibo character he chose). True beauty is reliving the fun and magic of Nintendo with those around you. And it's all based on an amazing game that I can't stop thinking about. I've never even dared online because I'm too busy punching my daughter's Jigglypuff in the face with Pac-Man while we giggle like mad every day. the time Nintendog licks the screen and my son roars like Bowser as he throws my wife's King Dedede off the cliff. This is Smash Bros.
