Great matte finish. Extremely flexible and very, very flexible. (I bought a 41" unit - it's actually a 40-3/4). The border is very thin and 'may' contain a wafer-thin excess of molding material, this can be easily trimmed off with sharp scissors, do this prior to application. The included 3M VHB tape is of course excellent quality and very thin so it doesn't add any thickness at all. The back of the material is shiny and smooth like glass. It may contain deforming oil. Clean them with medical alcohol before sticking the 3M tape. Place the tape about 3/32 inch from the edge all the way around. Don't stick a reminder in the middle - you don't need it. Find along the middle and cut the 3M VHB. Stick on the protective film. Fold out about 1/2 inch on each side - you will need to do this before gluing it to your car. Make sure to clean the car from oil, road grime, etc. with a good cleaning product to ensure the 3M tape sticks properly. Center the piece and allow it to follow the contour of your car without "peeling off" the tape. . The natural curvature of the material may not match the shape of your car, but the material is very flexible, allowing it to conform to the shape of your car's bumper. Once you receive it! Start slowly peeling back the 3M film from the center outwards and simply slide the material back into the bumper. Just in case, I used a small paint roller (with a bit of lint) to press down the edges firmly. Very little pressure is required. The result was flawless on my BMW X6 - it looks like standard equipment. PS: I originally tried using a clear screen protector and it was a disaster, I had to remove it due to the horrible finish. This rubber bumper fitted and the finish was absolutely perfect.
