I have a winter white hamster and bought this cage as an addition to give him more room to explore. For that purpose alone, this cell satisfies what I need of it. It's big enough to hold multiple toys. However, it does not fit the right wheel for my hamster. I also like that it comes with a handle. Its compact size and handle make it easy to transport when needed. It is also durable enough for my hamster as I have a dwarf hamster. But I'm not entirely sure about Syrian hamsters. My biggest complaint is that the water bottle is in such a bad place. It is attached to the roof and closes the holes for the pipes. There's no way I can put it aside unless I'm trying to do something myself. For €21 not a bad buy. The beauty of Kaytee Critter Trail cages and accessories is that they are all designed to attach and detach from one another. You can hear people complaining about the brand because their cells are smaller. However, they are designed to be attached to each other to create a healthy environment for small pets.
