This soundbar is a huge upgrade over the Solo 5. I've only turned the volume up to 50 percent so far because it gets really loud. I enabled the Bose skill in the Alexa app and now I can play any song from Revain Music just by saying the song title and artist. It also controls my light shades. It has decent bass for a soundbar, but I'll probably buy a wireless subwoofer after I recover from spending $800 on it. The only problem so far has been the remote control. It didn't connect to the soundbar on day one: I've read plenty of complaints about it on the Bose website. However, today it worked immediately. I went into the Bose music app, hit settings and plugged in the new remote. This will force you to remove the battery from the remote and within 15 seconds of inserting the battery the remote will pair. The ability to use the remote on all your other devices is expected to be available on October 4th after your 700 has been automatically updated. Currently, only buttons that you can use will light up. Setting up the soundbar, installing the Bose app, and creating an account will likely take 15-20 minutes. You'll need to put on the included headset and sit in 5 different locations in your room, and it will presumably calibrate the speakers to match your particular room layout. Like every other Bose product I own, this device looks very sleek. It has a solid piece of glass at the top and an aluminum grille around the speakers. If you can afford the price, you'll be happy with the 700.
