The mats are excellent to protect my marble countertops. Make sure that your surface is clean before you placing the mats. It collects everything you might have on the counter like dust particles or bread crumbs, etc. It sticks to it. But is perfect if you want to protect your surface. I also place them next to the stove when I'm cooking. It protects from splatter. If you have a white contertop you have to look twice so you can see them. it blends perfectly with the surface.
