Not your usual rug.

First, the rug I bought was 7x10 or something like that for $107 (tax included). It was on sale for $99 I think? I just moved into an apartment and the living room and kitchen echo like CRAZY. So, my mission with this purchase was to mitigate sound. Price wise? Steal deal! When I picked the box up, I was confounded. It weighed 9.6lbs and when I opened it, the rug was in shrink packaging. It was not what I was expecting because I have purchased rugs from Home Depot and Target many times over the years. I placed it out and it looks nice. However, it was *not* what I was not the look I wanted as I thought it was thick and shimmery from the photos. Expectation? 4/10The back is also not hard like a normal rug, rather it is flexible and a little spongy like a bath mat. Again, not bad. However, I’m only keeping it for sound mitigation and at the request of my kids. Not to mention…how would I pack it back up? LOL 😂I would also only use a vacuum and hand rag to scrub this weird rug because I would fear the threads would break. Last note for everyone, I will say I hate the threads. I like the shiny shag threaded carpets one would find at Target…this is something one may out in a kids room. Just…not the look/style for my personality. Almost like something you’d find on a stuffed animal toy? I dunno. It fits my needs short-term, but I don’t love it. I’ll be replacing it with something nicer later on.
