I recently bought a used car. Almost like clockwork, the Check Engine Soon light came on. I don't know much about cars so I didn't want to go to the store and get scammed. I bought this reader so I could get the codes myself and look them up online and maybe estimate the cost of a repair. I was able to confirm that the store I visited received the same codes as me. The reader is very easy to use. You just have to find out where the reader connects to your machine. You can clear the codes after reading them, which will most likely turn off the Check Engine Soon light. It would be a good idea to run a code check again if the light comes on again to see if you got the same codes. I highly recommend everyone to get this code reader to keep in their tool box. This can save you hundreds of dollars in unnecessary repairs at unscrupulous auto repair shops.
