I use this hard drive to backup my CCTV cameras. I just bought a WesternDigital 2TB, had to send it back. I had to get my computer to recognize it and then it said it wasn't ready. He told me to reformat! You don't have to go through all this! I know Verbatim has a great name. It may have been a bit more expensive, but once I took it out of the box, I plugged it in and it really worked! So happy!
