As other reviewers have noted, the wiring diagram in the manual is incorrect. It only took me about 5 minutes to figure it out, but someone with little or no knowledge of wiring 12 volt electronics could have big problems. On the kits I received, the two outer wires are POS(+) and NEG(-). The center conductor is not used. Possibly for housing mass? But I don't see the need for it because it's 12V, which isn't fatal if you get hit by it. The brightness didn't seem to be affected when I swapped the POS and NEG leads. It still worked. A kit I received didn't have a protective film on the clear lamp lens, so it had a few minor scratches. But they are installed in my "detached" shed with 8 foot ceilings so the scratches are not visible from the floor. I haven't installed them yet, but I've tested them in the garage and they seem bright enough. Bright enough to see smudges when looking directly into them. I'm going to install 8 of these evenly spaced in a 10' x 16' canopy that runs on 12v only. I'll update photos once I've installed them and see how well they stand the test of time.
