What most reviewers don't seem to realize is that there are two parts to the process. You must clear the area first. I use rubbing alcohol to remove grease or other dirt. They will remove the white backing and apply to the car, make sure you know exactly where you want to get it. I recommend not pressing the entire area against the car. Apply the sticker slightly, then you need to press the black printed areas on the surface of the car. I did it carefully! Finally, remove the transparent layer. Go slow and make sure the black print isn't covered with a clear coat. If yes, just press firmly and then continue. It doesn't matter if you start at the edge of the star or at the edge of the strip. I did it both ways and got the same result.
