Ideal for hiking and even travelling. It has turn-by-turn voice navigation and works just like my Nuvi. The 680T finds satellites much faster than my other Garmin devices and will now accompany me on all my hikes. Just load the routes of your regions and viola, you will see your tracks on the routes. Send these results to Google Earth to see how your hikes look on a satellite map! The camera is ok, but I hardly use it. Addendum about the long-term use of the 680T. After two years, this device no longer started properly. Garmin support made me remove the micro sd card and device. starts correctly now. It seems that after two years the memory card started to fail.
