I bought this for my phone so I can listen to podcasts and music without headphones. The speaker came mostly charged, so it only took about 30 minutes to fully charge. The battery lasts quite a long time. I've used it quite a bit and the battery is still over 50%. Pairing is easy and it automatically reconnects to the last connected device when powered on. A successful connection will result in a voice prompt saying "Your device is connected". He turns it off and replies "Goodbye". With the controls on the speaker you can turn the speaker on and off, change the volume, change the play mode from the SD card and control your phone and the sound with the multifunction button. My concern with the speaker is that the speaker is very directional with the active side away from the lanyard. It's wrapped in a fabric that I think will be difficult to clean if used in a dusty or dirty outdoor environment. Happy with the purchase. Sound quality and volume are excellent for indoor and outdoor use.
