Smooth velvety feel holds broken remote together like new

When my husband was replacing the battery in my original remote he broke something on the back holding it together. I discovered this after trying to swap out the shell (which didn't fit at all) and now I have a fully working remote again. The case fits perfectly and has a nice velvety rubber feel. For some reason I have the alarm button activated now that I have it activated, but that's not a problem for me.
