Review on Beech Laminate L-Shape Desk with Three Drawer Pedestal by Flash Furniture by Patricia Wilson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not a bad desk for the home office, but it bends a bit.

This table design is light weight and the tops are fairly thin pressed cardboard. However, the price doesn't indicate that it's made from solid wood, and the reduced weight and ease of assembly make it attractive overall. The legs feel quite solid and working at the table doesn't bother or distract with staggering. Attaching the keyboard tray was a challenge as the top is very thin and the metal of the lower frame doesn't sit flush with the wood. When installed, the 3M keyboard tray curves the desktop slightly when in use, but not enough to be distracting. The drawer is well assembled and feels solid. The total construction time was about 1 hour. Attaching the metal supports between the cabinet and the tabletop was very tedious. The bolts that hold the countertop's metal frame to the cabinets go through the narrow space between the cabinet and the countertop. I couldn't get my hands in there so I had to use a hex head and a 36" extension. Overall we are happy with the size and shape of the table and think it is a reasonable price. Be very careful not to put wet objects on the table. It doesn't appear to be covered in a waterproof vinyl sleeve and I would be concerned that something like a glass of ice water could cause water damage. I might spray some clear urethane sealant on the top to be on the safe side.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
