Feels different than expected, looks as expected

I got these as a gift for my boyfriend. Kind of as a joke, but he uses them all the time in the winter.The fabric feels a little cheap. I was expecting a soft inside, but it’s just almost an athletic type fabric. I don’t really know how to describe it
