Straight/uniform pieces, but adjustable width would be great.

This has worked well to keep my slices even and straight, but I'm having a few issues. Assembling was no problem. It's pretty easy to assemble. Everything fits together easily. Before using, I quickly washed each part. I did NOT soak them and dried them quickly. The first problem I had was that the floor didn't hold up at all. 4 grippy feet/pads would help a lot. Second, there is NO way to adjust the width/sides of the bread slicing guides. I understand this applies to loaves of different widths, but my glass loaf pan (which measures 8.5" x 4.5") was significantly narrower than the width of the box. I found the bread wanted to slide away so I had to hold it. It was actually easier to press the end of the bread against the divider than to cut from the other end (see picture). Next time I'll move the divider down so I don't have to reach as far as I'm holding the bread. Next, I tried my metal bread pan (9.25" x 5.24"). This loaf fit much better between the guides, but I still had to hold the loaf in place while slicing. I think another divider might come in handy because I could then squeeze the loaf between the two dividers to hold it in place. Third (and again related to width) is my standard bread knife that was in my knife block. too short. It's just that the tip was sticking out on the other side and I didn't have enough room to cut the bread. Luckily I have a long Wonder Blade knife that has worked fine, but make sure you have a longer bread knife when ordering. My knife fit pretty well along the side of the magnetic knife block. I will keep it knife side to the back of the counter so my kids don't accidentally hit the knife. I expect this board to cut very quickly if you bake a lot of bread. This bread slicer comes with service for 1 set of cutlery. I'm not sure why. It would probably be best not to activate this as the service set is useless for 1 and most people have their own silver. Even if they hadn't, they would have wanted more than a 1 person set. Okay, it's not really a deal breaker, it's just weird.
