Install wasn’t bad but my dash didn’t split apart nearly as easy as the video shows. That took some "convincing” and I was afraid I’d scratch the dash but fortunately didn’t. The ends that plug in to the light strips are horrible. The light strip "plugs in” but there is no solid connection that holds them in place so they all pull out extremely easily. And if they aren’t all the way in place the lights dim. I put them in place and then used black tape to try and get them to stay in place. We’ll see if that solution holds long term. The other piece I wasn’t expecting is how many cables, boxes and buttons are needing to be tucked away. A button gets mounted on the side of the console, cigarette lighter plug is the power source and plugs in in the console as well as two controller boxes. I was able to wrap things up and tuck them away decently but now I’m afraid if I put anything in my center console it’ll bump the wires and pull out my black tape job and kill the console lights. I’ll avoid using my center console.And lastly, one of the connectors that sits between the light strip and the plastic plug in (small black wire that plugs in) came off. So I had to repair that. All of the connections just seemed really cheaply made and could be redesigned to make them more stable.Overall, it’s installed, looks good, functions well, but I’m curious to see if it starts to come apart or annoy me down the road to where I just decide to pull it back out if the connectors won’t stay in place.
